By: Small Nerve Fiber

Diseases and illness is a part and parcel of human body. There are innumerable types of diseases relating to heart, brain lungs, kidneys etc. There are different diseases for every body part. Diseases are not partial. They have divided themselves equally for each and every part. Every one of us has gone through some disease or the other. For some it may be as small as cold and cough while for others it may be as big as a cancer or aids. In the earlier diseases were considered as an end to the existence of an individual. But this is not the fact today.

Today people live for years even after having numerous diseases. In earlier times there was no proper medical treatment. This is because medical science was not very well developed. But today it is all together a different story. Medical science has evolved greatly. They have claimed even partial treatment for cancer and aids. So if people can live with such deadly diseases what is the big deal about arthritis? Living with arthritis is not a simple job but that doesn’t mean that it is difficult. Arthritis is not exactly a disease but instead it the wear and tear of the bones. To be more precise it is the wear and tear of the cartilage. Cartilage is a lubricating agent in the body which provides proper functioning between joints of two bones. Wear and tear of this cartilage leads to traction between the two bones thus causing immense pain to the individual.

Arthritis is a disease which cannot be cured fully. If at all it is cured fully many of the individuals cannot afford it. Permanent curing involves replacing the whole knee. Living with arthritis can be easy if provided with right guidance. First and foremost what an individual should do is to seek proper guidance from a doctor if symptoms of arthritis prevail. Symptoms of arthritis include swelling of the knee, feeling of the knee breaking into two, and pain in the joints.

The first step to cure anything is to find the problem as soon as possible. Mainly arthritis occurs in the old age to those individuals who are obese. Too much of weight in the old age adds more pressure to the already reduced capacity of the knees to support the body. Reducing weight by proper exercise can help in curing the problem of arthritis thus reducing the pressure on knees. Another method of reducing the problem of arthritis is the method of acupressure.

Yoga can be very helpful in relieving the pain. Yoga exercise in different positions can provide the individual with a rather soothing experience. Advice should be taken from doctors regarding the positions for sitting or the positions which could provide rest to the paining joints. Gentle massages can be very helpful. Massaging the joints with medicinal herbs or with medicinal oil can be very fruit full. Hot or cold massages can also be very use full. Therefore exercise plays an important role in reducing the pain caused due to arthritis.
